We are an Indigenous-owned BC contractor, and we hire the way we work: safely, fairly, and for the long term. If you want steady work, real training, and a crew that has your back, we want to hear from you.
Shewálh was built on a simple idea: Indigenous people belong in construction and infrastructure as owners and operators, not only as subcontractors. That belief shapes how we hire. We build real pathways into the trades, we train people up, and we keep them working.
You do not need years of experience to start. If you show up, work safe, and want to learn, we can get you certified and on a crew. If you are already experienced, you will find steady work, fair treatment, and room to lead.
We work with Indigenous employment and training programs to help cover certification, tickets, and wage support where it is available. If you are an Indigenous jobseeker, ask us about funding pathways when you apply. We will point you in the right direction.
Every crew works under a documented safety program. You will be trained, equipped, and never asked to cut a corner that puts you or the public at risk. See our Health & Safety approach.
These are the roles we regularly hire for across British Columbia. Do not see your role? Apply anyway, we keep good people in mind.
Certified flaggers for roadwork and construction zones. We support certification for the right candidates.
Set up and monitor equipped lane closures with trucks, arrow boards, and signage. LCT certification an asset.
General labour on site servicing, utilities, and roadwork. A solid entry point into the civil trades.
Excavators, loaders, and related equipment on civil projects. Tickets and experience required.
Applying is simple. Email your name, the role you are interested in, your location, and any tickets or certifications you hold to info@shewalh.com, or call our office and we will take it from there. A resume helps but is not required to start the conversation.
If you are an Indigenous applicant and want to ask about training funding or wage support, mention it in your message. We are happy to help you find the right program.
